Way of the Intercepting Fist
Bruce Lee’s Fighting Art: “The Style of No Style”
Jeet Kune Do (JKD), the “Way of the Intercepting Fist,” is a martial art founded by the legendary Bruce Lee. Rooted in Wing Chun, JKD integrates principles and techniques from various Chinese Gung Fu systems along with elements from Western Boxing, Fencing, Savate, Muay Thai, Judo, and Jiu-Jitsu. It emphasizes adaptability, efficiency, and directness—focusing on all ranges of combat, economy of motion, and applying what is natural and effective in real-world situations. However, Bruce Lee did not intend for JKD to be a rigid, standardized system. Instead, he saw it as a dynamic philosophy and a continuously adaptable designed to cultivate the mind, body, and spirit through martial arts.
Jeet Kune Do in Our System
In our teachings, we honor and preserve not only the technical and conceptual aspects of Jeet Kune Do but also its philosophical essence, ensuring that it remains true to Bruce Lee’s vision of perpetual growth and adaptation. By seamlessly integrating JKD with our Kali Combat System, we provide a complete, functional self-defense strategy that is adaptable, effective, and true to the realities of combat.
